These days, it seems like the locally owned insurance agencies are dwindling in numbers.  While there are still several locally owned independent insurance agencies around us, we are getting harder to find.

Nor should you have to deal with an agency who is owned by a private equity firm or international equity firm. A lot of former local agents have retired and/or sold their agencies to extremely large private equity firms.
