For the past 34 years, one local event has brought together hundreds of fishing enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. The Pasadena Sportfishing Group, a nonprofit organization focused on sharing fishing information and promoting camaraderie with fellow fishermen, will host their annual Pasadena Fishing Expo and Nautical Craft Show this weekend, February 15-16, at Kurtz’s Beach in Pasadena.
The expo will feature dozens of vendors offering new and used fishing tackle, crabbing supplies, nautical-themed crafts, artisan distilleries, food, oysters on the half shell, cold beer and a full bar. As a new addition this year, there will be hunting and gun sportsman vendors.
The Fishing Expo is open Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am-2:00pm at Kurtz’s Beach, 2070 Kurtz Avenue in Pasadena. Admission for the event is $5 per adult, children 12 and under are free.
The Pasadena Sportfishing Group was founded in 1991 by George Bentz, and continues to promote the sport of fishing and inspire new generations of fishing enthusiasts within the local community. They host two children’s fishing derbies each year, one in June and another in September. The next fishing derby will be held Sunday, June 23 at Fort Smallwood Park.
