
Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. That means next year – 2026 – our nation will celebrate 250 years of independence.
There’s no shortage of patriotism in Pasadena, and this week it will be on full display through the sights and sounds of fireworks lighting up the skies. With sunset occurring right around 8:30pm in Pasadena this week, most firework shows will likely start between 9:00pm-9:30pm. Looking for a 2025 fireworks show in and around Pasadena? Remember that some pets are alarmed by the sounds of fireworks. If you have pets – be sure to secure them indoors, or lock any gates and ensure that they are wearing their collars and tags.
Gibson Island
Gibson Island Club will put on its annual fireworks show beginning at 9:20pm on Friday, July 4. While the club is private, boaters are able to view the fireworks from the Chesapeake Bay along the shore of the clubhouse.
Glen Burnie / Sawmill Creek Park
The Glen Burnie Improvement Association Fireworks will host its annual fireworks show on Thursday, July 3 at 9:00pm. The rain date is Saturday, July 5.
Annapolis – Parade & Harbor Fireworks
Just a short drive away, Annapolis puts on a classic Independence Day show. The parade starts at 6:30pm along West Street, and fireworks begin around 9:15pm, launched from a barge in the harbor. Prime viewing is from City Dock, Severn River shoreline, Spa Creek parks—or aboard a harbor cruise.
Hancock’s Resolution Patriotic Program
While there won’t be fireworks at this event, it is definitely worth checking out to get in the spirit of Independence Day. On Sunday, July 6, Historic Hancock’s Resolution will host a Patriotic Day filled with live patriotic-themed music, flag-folding demonstrations, lessons on how to carry and present our nation’s flag, games, puzzles, history lessons and more. The event is from 1:00pm-4:00pm; admission is free.
