Families from Pasadena and surrounding communities are invited to spend an evening connecting with local police officers, first responders and community organizations during the Anne Arundel County Police Department Eastern District’s annual National Night Out.
The free, family-friendly event will take place Tuesday, August 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kinder Farm Park, located at 1001 Kinder Farm Park Road in Millersville. The celebration will be held rain or shine.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign designed to strengthen relationships between residents and law enforcement while encouraging neighborhood camaraderie. Held each year on the first Tuesday in August, the event provides an opportunity for community members to interact with the officers and first responders who serve them in a relaxed and positive setting.
“The best way to build a safer community is to know your neighbors and your surroundings,” organizers shared on the Eastern District National Night Out website. The annual gathering encourages residents to step away from their everyday routines, meet the people around them and rediscover the value of a connected community.
Throughout the evening, attendees can enjoy light snacks, beverages, giveaways, children’s games, contests, community booths and demonstrations. Police and fire vehicles will also be on display, giving children an up-close look at the equipment used by local first responders. Free entertainment is planned throughout the event.
Community organizations and local businesses will be on hand to share information about their programs, services and resources. The event offers residents an opportunity to learn more about the organizations working throughout the Eastern District while enjoying an evening outdoors with family, friends and neighbors.
National Night Out serves as an important reminder that public safety begins with strong relationships.
