Annual Event To Celebrate Local Flavor and State Spirit On August 10

This upcoming Sunday, Kurtz’s Beach in Pasadena will once again transform into a bustling hub of Maryland pride. From 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, August 10, locals and visitors alike will gather for the annual Made In Maryland Festival, a day dedicated to everything that makes the Free State special – its food, artisans, music, and deep sense of community.
For one afternoon only, the historic waterfront property will transform into a showcase of Maryland talent and tradition, featuring local artists, craft beverages, food trucks, family-friendly fun, community groups, live music, and more.
This year’s festival promises an exciting lineup: live music from Pretty Big Deal and Mach 3, craft drink tastings featuring local wineries and breweries, and plenty of family-friendly activities – all set against the backdrop of the bay. Live jousting demonstrations from the Maryland Jousting Tournament Association will also take place in the field. And while adults enjoy sipping a local IPA or browsing artisan goods, children get in free, making it an easygoing, all-ages event.
But it’s more than just a day of fun. Every ticket sold helps support the Chesapeake Bay Trust, a nonprofit working to protect and restore Maryland’s beloved waterways. For many, that connection – celebrating local traditions while giving back – makes the festival even more meaningful.
Kurtz’s Beach, with its sprawling green fields and iconic gazebo overlooking the Chesapeake, provides the perfect setting. It’s not just a venue – it’s part of the story, steeped in 92 years of history as a gathering spot for the Pasadena community and beyond.
The Made In Maryland Festival takes place Sunday, August 10 from 11:00am-5:00pm at Kurtz’s Beach, 2070 Kurtz Avenue in Pasadena. Tickets are $15 per adult, children 12 and under are free.
Tickets are available online at www.madeinmarylandfest.com or at the entrance gate the day of the festival.
