Dobbins Island – the 7.2‑acre private island in the Magothy River, listed in March 2025 for $2.7 million – had its asking price recently reduced to $1.98 million. Listed by The Brad Kappel Team in Annapolis, the $720,000 price reduction was implemented on July 30.
According to the listing, the property boasts over 4,000 feet of pristine water frontage, a private deep water dock with 8’ Mean Low Water for large boats, and a crescent shaped sandy beach. Dobbins Island also includes a dedicated private dock and parking on the mainland. An optional 2.5-acre waterfront parcel in North Beach is also available, presenting an opportunity to build an additional estate or guest retreat.
Dobbins “Dutchship” Island has had many owners over the last 250 years, including Annapolis attorney John Gibson (for whom Gibson Island is named after), and later George Dobbin, who purchased it in the late 1800s, giving the island its name.
The island was last sold in 2004 for $850,000, but at that time it did not have a home built on it. In 2019, a 4,000-square-foot custom home was built that features three bedrooms and three baths, an elevator, gourmet kitchen, multiple living spaces with fireplaces, soaring ten-foot ceilings, expansive windows, and ultra luxe finishes with multiple balconies and a rooftop deck.
