Each year, Real Pasadena polls the community on which grocery store located within the 21122 is deserving of the title Best Overall Grocery Store. The following grocery stores earned your votes due to their diverse selection of high-quality, fresh produce, exceptional customer service with knowledgeable staff ready to assist shoppers, cleanliness and attention to detail, and active involvement in the Pasadena community.

Without further ado, here’s how Pasadena voted in our Best Grocery Store poll.

1. Green Valley Marketplace
Located at 8095A Edwin Raynor Boulevard in Chesterfield Plaza, Green Valley has built a solid reputation for itself since taking over the former Lauer’s Supermarket & Bakery in October 2019. B. Green & Company, a third-generation, family-owned business run by president Benjy Green, along with Ben and Bernice Sigman — owns Green Valley Marketplace. Since the Baltimore-based company was founded over 100 years ago, they have remained committed to providing great service, great products and pricing, and giving back to the community. Green Valley Marketplace also has locations in Arnold, Maryland and Elkridge, Maryland.

2. Geresbeck’s Food Market
Our runner-up this year is Geresbeck’s Food Market, located in Riviera Plaza at 8489 Fort Smallwood Road. Family owned and operated since 1971, Geresbeck’s offers a full selection of fresh seafood delivered daily, an award-winning scratch bakery department, fresh local produce, certified Angus beef, and homemade salads. Geresbeck also is highly involved in giving back to the Pasadena community.

3. Giant Food
Located in Lakeshore Crossing at 4315 Mountain Road, Giant Food (Store #324) has been a staple in the community for decades. They offer a variety of products, fresh seafood and meats, and are usually well stocked with all products. 

4. Angel’s Food Market
Angel’s Food Market has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a farmhouse stand back in the 1920s. Now, one hundred years later, Angel’s has become the go-to grocery store known for its potato salad, coleslaw and macaroni. They also are the only grocery store in the area licensed to sell beer, wine and liquor. Angel’s also has expanded over the years to provide full catering services for parties, weddings and events.
