Renovations To Begin Early June On Former Greene Turtle Restaurant
This fall, Pasadena will have a new option for upscale dining.
Taking over the former Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille at 20 Magothy Beach Road is The Lodge, confirmed Titan Hospitality Group earlier this month. The Lodge, which has one other location in Annapolis, is inspired by its sister concept, The Blackwall Barn & Lodge. Construction on The Lodge in Pasadena will begin on or around June 1, with the goal of opening in late September or early October, said Titan Hospitality Group CEO James King.
“We really think the concept fits well here. We look at Pasadena as an underserved community when it comes to dining options, we hear that constantly. We’re excited to bring a fun, warm, cozy upscale environment to this location,” said King.
Plans for the restaurant include several private event rooms, some of which will be on the smaller size to accommodate 10-16 guests, with another that can accommodate up to 50 guests. “We’ll have private spaces available to suit everyone’s needs. One of the things we’ve seen that has been such a big hit in Annapolis is private dining spaces for four or five couples that aren’t necessarily celebrating anything specific, they just want to get together in a unique way on a Friday night and share a private space. We know there are limited options for that type of gathering space in Pasadena, so we’re excited to be able to bring that here,” King added. “One of our goals is to create a space where Pasadena residents don’t feel like they need to drive down to Annapolis to experience. This will be a nice venue in your own backyard.”
King explained that while the menu will be the same as the Annapolis location, the layout of the restaurant will be slightly different. “What we try to do when we plan these spaces is to design a few different things. You want to create a comfortable lounge and bar area, private event spaces, booth seating, regular dining tables – we like to break the spaces up. We have people who come in two to three nights a week but each time they almost feel like the’yre having a different experience based on where they’re sitting.”
The restaurant’s patio is also going to be a key feature. “The patio area is going to be great – we’re going to put some money and energy into bringing that back to life. We’ll have a firepit, new stonework, waterfalls, televisions, and really try to create a cool, private oasis out there,” King revealed. “We want to create a really high-end feel that’s welcoming, warm, energetic.”
With construction happening at neighboring Jacobsville Town Center (formerly known as Brumwell’s Flea Market), King said he hopes to work with the developers and County to build an access road connecting the two properties.
For now, King said the restaurant is focused on getting everything in order to begin renovations in early June. The restaurant is also currently accepting employment applications through its website, www.lodgepasadena.com. “We pride ourselves on hiring local people from the community. We want as many Pasadena residents employed at The Lodge as possible.”
