The The Y in Pasadena on Magothy Beach Road is welcoming members back to its pool this weekend while also unveiling new wellness amenities designed to enhance the member experience.
After completing necessary assessments and repairs, the Y has confirmed that its pool will officially reopen on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7:00 a.m. The temporary closure allowed for thorough evaluations and improvements to ensure the facility meets safety and operational standards.
“We’re grateful for the community’s patience throughout this process and are excited to welcome members back to the pool deck,” Y leadership shared in a recent communication to members.
The reopening restores access to lap swimming, water exercise, swim lessons, and family recreation time.
In addition to the pool reopening, the Pasadena location has introduced two brand-new co-ed infrared saunas, now available for member use during normal operating hours. The saunas are located in the room adjacent to the Fitness Floor.
Unlike traditional saunas that heat the surrounding air, infrared saunas use infrared technology to warm the body directly. This approach creates a more comfortable experience at lower temperatures while still promoting relaxation, muscle recovery, and overall wellness.
According to the Y, benefits of infrared sauna use may include deeper tissue heat to aid muscle recovery, improved circulation, therapeutic relief for joint pain, and more efficient toxin elimination. The lower ambient temperature can also make the experience more tolerable for individuals sensitive to extreme heat.
The facility updates reflect the Y’s continued investment in providing modern, high-quality amenities for its members while supporting the community’s health and wellness goals.
The Y in Pasadena is located at 26 Magothy Beach Road in Pasadena.
