Northeast High School’s Eagles are entering the 2025 football season with renewed energy, determination, and a sense of purpose. After a difficult 2024, the currently 2-1 team aims to leave its mark in the district under third-year Head Coach Caprizio Chisholm and assistant coaches Raymond Mack and Trent Smith.
The Eagles opened the season on September 6 against St. Paul’s High School and lost by a score of 12-42. Their second game, the Eagles defeated Severna Park High School 18-15. This past Friday, September 19, the game was forfeited by ConneXions Academy, resulting in an automatic Eagles win.
Key Players to Watch
Several Eagles stand out as potential difference-makers in 2025:
- Kyle Townsend: As a senior at quarterback, Townsend will be at the center of the Eagles’ offense.
- Rayhon Cooper: A member of the varsity roster whose contributions, especially in skill positions, could be pivotal.
- Eli Buckmaster: Another returner expected to help bolster both offense and special teams.
- Jayden Balsarick: A name to watch on both sides of the line; against strong competition, his performance may help determine the Eagles’ defensive resilience.
These players, among others, will need to step up as the Eagles try to improve upon last year’s performance.
