District 3 residents will have the opportunity to help shape Anne Arundel County’s next budget during a Budget Town Hall on Thursday, January 22, at Chesapeake High School.
The meeting will bring together County Executive Steuart Pittman and District 3 Councilman Nathan Volke for an open discussion with community members about budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. The event is part of the county’s annual series of Budget Town Halls designed to gather public input early in the budget development process.
The town hall will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is open to all residents, business owners, and community stakeholders who want to voice their thoughts on county services, infrastructure, education, public safety, and other spending priorities.
“These town halls give residents a direct line to county leadership,” Pittman said in announcing the series. “Hearing from the community helps us make informed decisions that reflect the needs and values of our neighborhoods.”
Councilman Volke echoed the importance of public participation, noting that feedback gathered at the town hall will help guide budget discussions in the months ahead as the county works toward a proposed budget release in the spring.
The Budget Town Halls are a key step in Anne Arundel County’s budget process, which begins with departmental requests in January and culminates with final adoption by the County Council in June.
Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and share their ideas for how county resources should be allocated in the coming year. Registration information and additional details about the Budget Town Hall series are available at AACounty.org/Budget-Town-Halls.
