Both Chesapeake and Northeast High School varsity football teams are charging into the playoffs beginning this Friday, November 7, marking an exciting milestone for the Cougars, Eagles and their fans. After a season filled with determination, teamwork, and standout performances from both sides, the teams have earned their respective place among the top contenders in the region.
Led by Head Coach Rob Elliott, the 7-2 Cougars will head to Waldorf, Maryland Friday evening to face off against the 7-2 St. Charles Spartans. Chesapeake’s last regular season game on October 30 resulted in a 41-20 win against Southern High School. This season, Chesapeake has shown grit on both sides of the ball, with a balanced offense and a tough, disciplined defense that has carried them through close matchups all season long. Players like Jude Weber and Levi Page have made major contributions on the field, helping the Cougars secure key victories that solidified their playoff berth.
Over at Northeast, the 5-4 Eagles will host the 3-6 McDonough Rams with kickoff at 6:00pm on Friday, November 7. Coming off a 57-6 loss to the 9-0 South River Seahawks, the Eagles enter the playoffs with motivation to write a meaningful chapter in this season’s story. If they bring focus, energy, and execution, they have the ingredients to make a run. Meanwhile, McDonough will also be motivated, and in playoff football, motivation can equal advantage.
Win or lose, this playoff run stands as a testament to the growth and the hard work of players and coaches from both Pasadena teams. As Chesapeake and Northeast take the field this Friday, the Pasadena community will be rallying behind them – proud of how far they’ve come and hopeful for how far they can go.
